The Alliance Suggestion Topic

Okay so it seems like everyone that has a faction or is trying to establish one are all friendly with each other to some extent and people would like to be in multiple factions at once.

So I suggest for there to be an alliance so there's a single group that will be listed as an official usergroup and the group's color changes everyday to represent each faction within the alliance.

My suggested name: The Celestial Alliance

Faction Color Schedule:

Sunday - The Sun Worshipers

Monday - The Red Moon Worshipers

Tuesday - The Blue Moon Worshipers

Wednesday - The Spring Worshipers

Thursday - The Rainbow Force

Friday/Saturday - One of the factions gets randomly selected to be represented.

And yes, this is supposed to act as a loophole around the "only one faction at a time" rule.

I refuse to collaborate with the fictional democratic republic of the blue moon. It is insulting.

I'm sorry to say, but this method cannot be done in any practical way whatsoever. Someone would have to keep track, and tediously add and remove members to their respective faction on their respective day; everyday, indefinitely. It isn't a rule so much as it is a limitation.

Of the groups Mana listed, how many have their founders expressed desire that the group be made a faction? How many even have enough members(not counting overlap due to confusion over whether or not the group is intended to be a faction)?

Not sure how to straighten out this mess, but here are some suggestions I would make to prevent further muddying of the waters(my apologies in advance if any of these would be impractical with the current forum software):
1. To avoid confusion in the future, Club Founders must state explicitly in their club's initial post the desire to become a faction. Doing so grants the club "Proto-Faction" status while failure to do so grants regular Club status and prevents the club from gaining Proto-Faction Status.
2. To avoid splintering of factions over minor disagreements, a member must formally denounce membership in their current Faction and then wait at least a week before creating their own Proto-Faction.
3. In the context of 2, a Formal denouncement of membership would consist of a PM sent to both the Faction Founder and the Administrator.
4. Anyone may join a Proto-Faction and may join as many proto-factions as they like, but only those not part of a faction or any other proto-faction count towards the number of members required for Promotion to Faction status.
5. A member is only forced to decide which Usergroup they want Official Membership in upon two or more of the groups they have joined being granted faction status and are given a week from the latest Granting of a Faction Charter.
6. To avoid wishy-washy switching of factions, a member wishing to switch factions must submit their request in the form of a PM to the founders of both factions and to the Administrator.
7. While 5 members(roughly 10% of the total membership of the forum at present) seems appropriate at present for the threshold for being granted faction status, I feel there should be a rule for increasing this number as the Fun Allowed community grows. Perhaps something along the lines of 10% of members who have made at least 1 post?
8. There should probably also be rules in place for the dissolution of factions. Say, if the faction's thread has been inactive for so many months or the Founder gets permabanned and no member is willing to take over management of the faction.

The Rainbow Force and Monochrome Legion can probably be Grandfathered in as Factions since their Fun Allowed versions predate most of the other potential factions and proto-factions plus their extended history among those from Chao Island. Maybe send an Administrator PM/e-mail to the founders of the other groups under question to get a clear answer as to whether they intended to be a faction, asking those founders with membership in an established faction to formally denouce their membership in their old faction and start granting proto-faction status as appropriate. And I will repeat my recommendation that only members not part of a faction or another proto-faction count towards the members needed to gain faction status.
