Love is very confusing and agonizing, but understand that if the person doesn't reciprocate it, it doesn't mean you fail at love, it just means they like your relationship as it is. Best thing to do when you love someone is let them know they can always come to you, support them, and be a good friend. But also respect them if they say no. Feel free to talk to me.

stuff like this happens fairly often and i can confirm this as it probably happens at least once or twice a month for me
as long as you don't hurt yourself or others and keep yourself in check, it's not really all that bad

I wish I could tell you it gets easier with age, but personal experience says I would be lying.

I'm in a committed relationship(we've been together 8 years engaged for 7, and the main reason we aren't yet married is that our income would be cut significantly), but our current circumstances place us roughly 170 miles apart. Neither of us can drive(she's visually impaired, I'm functionally blind), gas money for the two required roundtrips is usually more than our combined spending money for the month, and I'm the only one with access to someone willing to provide transportation and a vehicle reliable enough to make the trip. My classes hamper my ability to leave town, and she is afraid to leave her ailing father(he's not well enough to be self-sufficient, but too healthy to consider a nursing home or in-home care), and even if I visit her, the apartment she shares with her dad and(until very recently) younger sisters is lacking in privacy(locks on bedroom doors are pickable with fingernails, floor and ceiling are thin enough to overhear loud noises from the appartment above and below) and too isolated to make walking anywhere viable. It has been over a year-and-a-half since we have been able to enjoy any intimacy or even a simple dinner date.

And to make matters worse, I've spent much of the last year-and-a-half with vision too poor to enjoy the escapism of video games, reading manga, watching fansubbed anime, or relieving the more carnal stresses via erotic artwork. The only real distraction from my loneliness and the stress of real life is what of the internet my screen reader can read to me.

If my skepticism of psychiatric medicine was low enough for me to seek psychological help, I am sure they would try to deliver a diagnosis of some type of depression.

Gosh, I'm really sorry to hear what you're going through, Jeffery. A cool guy like you doesn't deserve your current situation at all.
